It is therefore extremely important that you order the correct sizes. The hip, or 'seat', circumference is the primary basis of measurement for cycling shorts. The widest point in this area should be used for measurement; hips and rear. Measure your waist and seat measurements to determine short size. The waist measurement is the measurement around waist at the narrowest point above the hips and below the rib-cage.
